WELCOME TO THE ZAMBEZI REGION

This route is well known for the Zambezi Region, until 2013 known as the Caprivi Region, is one of the 14 regions of Namibia, located in the extreme north-east of the country. It is largely concurrent with the Caprivi Strip and takes its name from the Zambezi River that runs along its border.

RECOMMENDED ROUTE FOR VICTORIA FALLS

Classic 4×4 Self-drive Safari

“On this route, you will be able to experience the majestic masterpiece that is Botswana. You can curate you own experience of this untamed land by self-drive. “

Your trip starts in the main agricultural and cattle farming hubs of Namibia. You have the option to go on a nature or game drive, or take a scenic walk on one of the walking paths. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to sight some of the wildlife at a waterhole near your lodge.

On your way to the Kavango Region, you will be able to visit the Hoba Meteorite, which is renowned for being the largest known meteorite in the world. Close to the Kavango Region, you will explore a number of villages where you will be able to purchase handmade crafts that reflect the culture and nature of the area. The lodge will be situated in Rundu, along the Kavango River.

After breakfast, proceed east and follow the Kavango River until it turns south into the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Your lodge should be situated under in between the jackalberry trees, close to the Popa Falls. You have the option of enjoying your afternoon on a sunset cruise, or enjoying some leisure time at the lodge.

After breakfast, proceed to visit Namibia’s smallest, most diverse wildlife haven, Mahango Game Park. Here, you will be able to site the lion, hyena and wild dog.

Travel further east, and you will enter the Bwabwata Game Park, which is bordered by natural river systems. Here, you will experience and abundance of wildlife along the Kwando River, including lion, roan and elephant, as well as over 450 different bird species.

You have the option of exploring the diverse waterways of the Chobe flood plain and Nkasa Lupala National Park. The Zambezi region in Namibia is a part of the KAZA Transfrontier Park.

After breakfast, travel along the majestic Zambezi Strip, crossing the border to Botswana. You will enjoy experiencing the Chobe floodplains and the Chobe National Park.

The Chobe National Park has an array of adventurous activities on offer. The Chobe National Park boast in the largest elephant concentration in the world and is the habitat of most of Africa’s largest predators. With over 500 different bird species, the park is an ideal place for birders and wildlife enthusiasts

After breakfast, a transfer from Kasane to Victoria Falls will be made available. Here, you will have the option of experiencing an array of activities, depending on availability. You have the option of experiencing a sunset cruise on the Zambezi or exploring the wildlife in and around the Vic falls.

After breakfast, continue to experience the Victoria Falls on foot. The Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and you will soon discover why.
